TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Welcome to Kaikoura Hunts. By accessing our website and booking a hunt, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not make a booking.

1. Booking and Payment

• All bookings must be made via our website or by contacting us directly.
• A deposit of 30% is required to secure your booking.
• Full payment is due 14 days before the hunt date.
• Payments can be made via bank transfer to: 
• Totaranui Station Ltd 06-0145-0825257-00

2. Gift Vouchers

• Gift vouchers purchased from Kaikoura Hunts are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and can be redeemed for specific services or amounts. 
• To redeem, please contact us to book your preferred service. 
• Vouchers are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash.
• If a booking is cancelled in line with our cancellation policy, the voucher can be reissued within its validity period. 
• Kaikoura Hunts is not responsible for lost or stolen vouchers. 
• These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and any changes will be posted on our website.

3. Cancellation Policy

• Cancellations made more than 30 days before the hunt date will receive a full refund of the deposit.
• Cancellations made between 15 and 30 days before the hunt date will forfeit 50% of the deposit.
• Cancellations made less than 15 days before the hunt date will result in the full deposit being forfeited.
• In the event of a no-show, no refunds will be issued.
  

4. Alcohol and Firearms Policy

• Zero Alcohol Policy: The use of alcohol is strictly prohibited while handling firearms or participating in hunting activities on our property. Any participant found under the influence of alcohol will be immediately removed from the property without a refund.
• Participants must comply with New Zealand's laws regarding alcohol consumption and firearm use.

5. Fire Safety

• No Fires Policy: The lighting of fires on our property is strictly prohibited. This includes campfires, open flame BBQ’s, and any open flames. Violators will be asked to leave the property.
  

6. Respectful Hunting Practices

• All participants are expected to engage in respectful hunting practices. This includes ensuring a quick and humane kill and adhering to ethical hunting standards.
• We promote conservation and sustainability; hunters are encouraged to consider the ecological impact of their actions.
  

7. Weather Conditions and Safety

• Hunts may be canceled or rescheduled due to adverse weather conditions. In such cases, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer alternative dates or a full refund.
• All participants must adhere to safety instructions provided by our guides.

8. Liability

• Kaikoura Hunts is not responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses sustained during the hunt.
• Participants are required to sign a waiver form prior to visiting and hunting on the station.
• Participants are advised to have appropriate insurance coverage for hunting activities.
  

9. Accommodation Terms

• Hut accommodation is subject to availability and must be booked in advance.
• Check-in and check-out times will be communicated upon booking confirmation.
• Guests are responsible for leaving the accommodation in a clean and tidy condition.
  

10. Code of Conduct

• All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and responsible manner.
• We reserve the right to remove any participant who does not adhere to our code of conduct without refund.
  

11. Unauthorised Entry

• I acknowledge that I am not permitted to enter Totaranui Station without prior written approval. I understand that any unauthorised entry will result in the issuance of a trespass notice, and I may be subject to legal action as deemed necessary by the management of Totaranui Station.
  
  

12. Changes to Terms and Conditions

• Kaikoura Hunts reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on our website.
  
  

13. Governing Law

• These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
